Open-loop systems circulate potable water in your water heater tank directly to the roof collector where it is heated by the Sun and then returned to the tank. Closed-loop systems circulate a heat transfer fluid (HTF), usually distilled water or anti-freeze, to the roof collector where the HTF is heated by the Sun and then the thermal energy is transfered to the water in the tank via a heat exchanger. All Florida Solar extended warranty program: According to Florida law, all state licensed contractors must completely guarantee the workmanship and materials, including the fixtures and appliances they install, for one year regardless of the manufacturers warranty or lack thereof.
